An individual’s internet browser has built-in features to make reading easier and more accessible. The accessibility settings are helpful to individuals with visual difficulties, hearing loss, discomfort in their hands or arms, or reasoning and cognitive issues.

Depending on an individual’s browser, an individual may:

  • Zoom in on a Web page to magnify text, images, and controls on the page
  • Change text size and font style
  • Set up a style sheet to format documents to your preferences
  • Choose or ignore colours used on Web pages making them easier to see by changing the text, background, link and hover colors
  • Maintain operating system preferences like high contrast mode and colour preferences so they work in your browser
