Brian Grant is a Toronto-based mediator and an instructor with the Stitt Feld Handy Group, a division of ADR Chambers. He provides instruction on negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution and how to have difficult conversations to the public and customized training for organizations and government departments, and he acts as a negotiation and mediation coach.
Brian received his LL.B. from the University of Toronto Law School in 1992 and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1994. He brings a litigation background to his work as a mediator and instructor. For over 25 years, he represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of property and casualty cases and other lawsuits, appearing in courts throughout the province. He was a Certified Specialist in civil litigation from 2014-2020 until he began mediating full-time.
Throughout his professional life, Brian has been active in educating and instructing professionals. He has taught, led, co-chaired and otherwise delivered over 100 seminars and programs to professionals, primarily through legal education organizations such as The Advocates’ Society, Osgoode Professional Development, the Ontario Bar Association and others. In 2020, in recognition of his long-term commitment and performance, he was the recipient of The Advocates’ Society Award for Excellence in Teaching.
He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association. He is an active volunteer and an unapologetic Leafs fan.
