Jonathan Jacobs is a Toronto-based ADR Instructor with the Stitt Feld Handy Group, Investigator with the ADR Chambers Banking Ombuds Office and Mediator with ADR Chambers.
Jonathan is a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario, the bars of the Province of Ontario and the State of New York and is admitted to the U.S. Court of International Trade. Prior to joining the Stitt Feld Handy Group, Jonathan was a litigator at boutique law firms in Toronto and New York City.
In addition to his frequent appearances in court, Jonathan participated in complex negotiations and mediations. Jonathan has settled cases across a range of areas, including disputes over the ownership and operation of closely-held corporations, real estate transactions and the management of estates. While volunteering at Community Legal Aid, Jonathan obtained for his client the highest settlement awarded to an Ontario Criminal Injuries Compensation Board claimant.
After receiving his B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Western Ontario, Jonathan completed the East-West Center’s Asia-Pacific Leadership program at the University of Hawai’i in Honolulu. Following graduate school, Jonathan studied law in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Jonathan is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Law School where he teaches a course on Negotiation. He has provided alternative dispute resolution training across North America and the Caribbean to governments, national banks and industry specific companies and organizations.
