Synopsis

Will you read the paragraph? Should you hire that candidate? Should you speak to that poor performer? Should you incorporate AI into your work processes? You make thousands of decisions every day, big and small and those decisions are influenced by a complex set of factors, many of which you may not be aware of, and some of which can lead you to make the wrong decision.  We have been studying the work of the most influential thinkers who have analyzed why people make the decisions they do and how people can learn to make better decisions.  We have synthesized their thinking into this short, informative and interactive workshop.

At the workshop, we will explore our decision-making processes, demonstrate common errors, and discuss how to combat some common decision-making biases and distortions.

Gaining deeper insight into our decision-making processes can substantially influence financial outcomes and unlock new avenues for growth and progress. By comprehending the underlying factors that drive our choices, we can:

  • Enhance our ability to make more informed and strategic decisions
  • Identify previously overlooked opportunities for advancement
  • Improve overall performance and efficiency
  • Cultivate a more proactive approach to problem-solving

This increased self-awareness and understanding can lead to breakthroughs and possibilities that might have remained hidden without such introspection. In essence, by examining the ‘why’ behind our decisions, we open doors to innovation and success that were previously inaccessible.

Now your decision is, can you afford to miss this workshop?

Here are a few fun examples of ways that our brains fail us on a daily basis.

Syllabus

  • Discuss why the brain thinks the way it does, and how it impacts our decisions
  • Identify the questions needed to make decisions.
  • Engage in exercises that show our current thinking processes
  • Identify times where flawed thinking impacts our decisions
  • Learn the approach to decision making to allow for clearer plans moving forward

  • Conduct risk analysis in a holistic way
  • Discuss common cognitive errors that decision makers fall into
    • How to avoid them
    • How to identity them in others
  • Work through a real world situation and how to apply the various decision making concepts in your world.

  • Live, coached feedback during role plays to refine your skills
  • Engaging, interactive sessions with real-world negotiation scenarios

Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed so that anyone will get significant benefit from it. We are all constantly analyzing significant amounts of information to make decisions every day, large and small.
