Course Description

This course offers a fun and interactive environment where participants can safely experiment with strategies you might never try in real situations.

Make a positive impact with our interactive Online Negotiation Course. This program consists of 8 modules, including 7 simulated negotiations where you’ll engage with dynamic computer characters who challenge you with difficult tactics, strong emotions and unexpected questions. Each scenario is designed to help you hone essential skills in a safe, supportive environment.

In these simulations, you’ll respond to complex statements, navigate tough questions, and work to negotiate the best possible deal. If you don’t reach the optimal outcome, you’ll receive feedback on what went wrong and be invited to try again. Experiment with approaches and strategies you might not risk in the real world, and learn just as much from your “failures” as from your successes.

Once you’ve negotiated the best outcome, you’ll have access to detailed Notes that explain the theory behind what you just learned and provide tips for applying these concepts in real negotiations.

Grounded in the principles of our Stitt Feld Handy Group public Negotiation Workshop, this course is also part of the Executive Certificate in Conflict Management, making it a valuable investment in professional growth.

Learning Outcomes

This course will teach you:

  • The difference between positional and interest-based negotiation
  • What your negotiation tendencies are
  • When to say “yes” and when to walk away
  • How to negotiate as part of a team
  • How to deal with difficult and deceptive negotiators
  • Strategies for making a cold call – initiating a negotiation
  • How to negotiate with an inflexible bureaucrat

Very worthwhile. Good, realistic scenarios. I found it very challenging. The opportunity to go back and learn (the hard way!) was very beneficial.
